Implants are strong

A dental implant is made from a screw-like titanium post and a ceramic crown. The post is implanted during minor surgery, and then you heal for a period of several weeks. During this time, a process called osseointegration takes place and your jawbone fuses to the implant, making it strong. After the healing period, the implant is capped off with a crown to replace the tooth.

Implants blend in with your smile

The ceramic crowns used with dental implants are custom-made to blend in with your natural teeth. During the initial healing period, you may wear a temporary tooth cap to protect the implant. This won't match perfectly but is only temporary while your custom restoration is being fabricated. When you leave from your final appointment you will have a crown made to last and match your smile.

Dental implants are easy to care for

When you have dental implants you need to take great care of your teeth, but it's easy to keep up a good oral hygiene routine at home. Your dentist will recommend brushing for two minutes twice a day and flossing at least once a day.
